Your server, your books
Fablefin connects straight to the Jellyfin server you already run. There’s no Fablefin account to create and no service in the middle. Your library, downloads, and listening progress stay between your phone and your server.
Getting started
- Enter your server’s address. Servers behind a reverse proxy with a base path, like
example.com/jellyfin, work too. - Sign in with your Jellyfin username and password, or approve a Quick Connect code from a device that’s already signed in.
- Browse your libraries and download a book. The download keeps going if you switch apps or lock your phone.
- Press play. Fablefin saves your place and syncs it back to Jellyfin, so your other Jellyfin apps know where you stopped.

- Speed
- Anywhere from 0.5× to 3×, without changing the narrator’s pitch.
- Skipping
- 15 seconds back, 30 seconds ahead. Scrub, or jump to an exact time.
- Sleep timer
- Stop after a set number of minutes, or at the end of the chapter.
- Chapters
- Uses the chapter markers in your Jellyfin library, then moves on to the next downloaded track in the folder.
- Bookmarks
- Mark a moment to come back to. Bookmarks are kept on your phone.
- Offline
- Downloaded books play without a connection. Your place syncs to Jellyfin when you’re back online.
- Controls
- Play and skip from the lock screen, Control Center, or your headphones, and send audio to AirPlay speakers. Playback pauses when your headphones disconnect.
What you need
- An iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
- A Jellyfin server you can reach from your phone. Use HTTPS for servers outside your home network.
- Jellyfin 10.10 or later to sync your place with the server.
- Audio your iPhone can play. MP3, M4A, and M4B work best.
